Walking by Faith, Not by Sight

Trusting GOD When the Path Is Unclear

There are seasons in life when GOD calls us to take a step forward before we can see where we are going. It is in those moments that faith becomes more than a word — it becomes a way of life.

The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." These words are simple, yet they carry the weight of a lifetime of trust. Walking by faith means choosing to believe in GOD's goodness even when circumstances suggest otherwise. It means holding onto HIS promises when the evidence around you seems to contradict them.

When the Road Disappears

I have walked through seasons where the road ahead seemed to vanish entirely. Ministry doors closed. Finances tightened. Relationships shifted. In those moments, the temptation is to rely on what we can see, touch, and calculate. But GOD invites us into something deeper — a trust that transcends human understanding.

Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us: "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Notice the promise — HE will make your paths straight. Not you. Not your planning. HIM.

Faith Is an Action

Faith is not passive. It is not sitting still and waiting for GOD to do everything while we do nothing. Faith is stepping out of the boat like Peter, even when the waves are high. It is planting seeds in dry ground because you believe in the rain that is coming.

Abraham left his homeland without knowing where he was going (Hebrews 11:8). Moses led a nation into the wilderness with nothing but a staff and a word from GOD. Esther approached the king's court knowing it could cost her life. Every one of them walked by faith — and every one of them saw GOD move.

A Personal Invitation

Today, I want to invite you to examine the areas of your life where you have been waiting for certainty before you act. What is GOD asking you to trust HIM with? What step have you been postponing because you cannot see the full picture?

You do not need to see the whole staircase. You only need to take the next step. GOD is faithful. HIS word does not return void. And HIS plans for you are good — plans to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Walk by faith today. The path will become clear as you go.
